Following the highest rated showing of an HBO series since The Sopranos finale, the network has announced that it will renew Game Of Thrones for seasons 5 and 6. Sunday night’s premiere of season 4 drew a record breaking 6.6 million viewers, with replay tallies bringing it in at 8.2 million.

While it may not come as a surprise to the hardcore fans of Game Of Thrones who have been aware of the show’s potential since day one, it’s still welcome news and cause for celebration, knowing that there’s much more to come from our favorite saga.
